MindToss ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
MindToss is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:
- Account Information: Your sign-in email or Apple account identifier is used to create and maintain your MindToss account.
- Destination Email Addresses: The inbox addresses you add are stored so MindToss can send tosses to the correct destination.
- Notes and Content: Text notes, voice memo attachments, and photos are processed only to send the email you request. Recent toss history may be stored locally and synced to your account so it remains available in the app.
- App Preferences: Settings like dark mode, profile details, categories, and email account labels may be stored locally and synced to your account.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Send your captured thoughts to your specified email address
- Authenticate your account and keep your session active
- Remember your preferences and recent history within the app
- Provide app functionality
Data Storage
MindToss stores app data locally on your device and may sync account settings, destination inboxes, preferences, categories, and recent history through our backend service. Email delivery is processed through our backend and email delivery provider.
Third-Party Services
MindToss uses Convex for backend account and app-state services and SMTP2GO for outbound email delivery. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Camera and Microphone
MindToss requests access to:
- Camera: To capture photos of your thoughts and ideas
- Microphone: To record voice memos
- Photo Library: To attach existing images to your notes
These permissions are used solely for capturing content that you choose to send to yourself. Media is processed for email delivery only when you tap TOSS.
Data Retention
You can remove your account and synced MindToss data from the app by using Delete Account in Settings. Deleting the app removes local data from the device, but emails already delivered to your inbox remain with your email provider.
Children's Privacy
MindToss is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
